Scrap Metal Buyer
We’re looking for qualified candidates with a successful record of locating, buying and selling metal including iron, copper, aluminum, cable and related scrap commodities.
Responsibilities will include developing new suppliers in the marketplace; maintaining and improving existing relationships; and, closing transactions. Other tasks will involve prospecting for new customers; proactively visiting seller locations; developing customer quotations; and creating new business opportunities.
Requirements include a proven record of establishing and building successful long-term business relationships with suppliers; solid understanding of sales/marketing fundamentals; and, demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness to do whatever it takes. Proficiency with computers & MS Office Products; excellent written/oral communications skills; and, the ability to work well with people is also needed.
If you have metal buying/selling experience, including a proven record identifying and developing new suppliers of scrap metal and negotiating procurement at acceptable market prices, we would like to talk to you.

In this position, you will be responsible for generating profitable new business and promoting revenue generating Company services. Success requires tenacious prospecting, entrepreneurial initiative and performance driven results. You will be asked to develop and implement a sales plan that meets or exceeds profit margins and returns on investment in a highly competitive marketplace.Qualified candidates will have 3 or more years of successful business to business sales experience.
- Education equivalent to a BA in sales or marketing or the equivalent in work related experience.
- Verifiable success in a sales role for acquisition of profitable business and revenue producing services.
- Ability to conduct Business to Business sales.
- Experience in a highly competitive market environment: e-waste or metals industry preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction/service.
